　　1. 如果有兩所大學(xué)同時(shí)錄取你了，一所是名牌大學(xué)，但學(xué)費(fèi)很貴;另一所沒名氣，但給你提供獎(jiǎng) 學(xué)金，你怎么選?

　　To be honest, it is a tough decision to make. But I would probably go to a great university with expensive tuition fees. First of all, everybody has the right to receive better education. The reason why I have been studying so hard is to get admitted by a prominent university. Otherwise, my efforts would be in vain if I didn’t go to the university I deserve to be in the end. Secondly, as a student, our main task would be learning instead of thinking too much about money. After being well-educated in a great university, we have got plenty of opportunities to earn much money in the future. Last but not least, financial problems could be easily solved by loaning money either from a bank or from our government.

　　2. Sometimes people behave impolitely in public. Describe a time when an impolite behavior annoyed you. Explain why you were annoyed.

　　I’d like to talk about an incident took place in the library last month. I was trying to finish my paper for my finance class. It was the most difficult paper I have ever written. This paper had bugged me for over an entire week. I had a habit of doing my assignments in the library due to its quiet environment. It is easy for me to concentrate. Unfortunately, the guy sitting next to me kept making telephone calls in a loud voice. Everybody, including me in the library was disturbed by his loud and rude voice. I asked him to keep quiet. He was reluctant to lower his voice although many people had already starred at him.

　　1. Your community has a piece of land and is considering introducing a business to this land. Which business would you prefer? 1. A shopping mall 2. A performing art center 3. A hotel.

　　If my community were considering introducing a business to a piece of land in our place, I would rather choose a shopping mall compared to a performing art center or a hotel.

　　To begin with, a shopping mall could benefit our local people and local economy. Nowadays, residents in our community are busy with their jobs during daytime and seldom have time to drive to shopping malls far away. Still, they need to purchase some clothing, foods, and technological products. If there could be a shopping mall inside our community, it would save the residents lots of time and efforts, and make their life more convenient. Moreover, a shopping mall could attract lots of small businesses and chain stores, which could help develop local economy. In this way, local government could collect more tax from the stores, and the stores could gain more profits as well.

　　As for a performing art center, I believe that most our residents do not have too much spare time to enjoy the performances there. Besides, everyone has to eat, drink, and dress, but not all of us needs to enjoy art works. In fact, most residents tend to relax at home or travel somewhere during weekends. Therefore, even if the performing center has some high quality shows, probably there will be very few residents who are willing to spend their money on watching them.

　　Among the three choices we have, I believe the hotel is the least favored one. If our community is close to a scenic spot where tourists always come to visit, it is meaningful to build a hotel for sure. However, the local residents all have their own places to stay, there is no need to build a hotel that nobody would make use of.

　　Based on the above discussion, it seems that a performing art center or a hotel contributes little to local people and our community compared to a shopping mall. Thus I prefer that the local government build a shopping mall instead of the other two.
